A Guide On How To Pack Shoes For Moving.

Many people don’t understand how to pack their shoes properly when moving. Morrison Moving has written this article to show you how to pack your shoes correctly.  We suggest that you by no means just toss your shoes into a box.  Packing shoes the right way will make sure that they will show up in excellent condition.

This is your guide on how to pack shoes

1.    Organize and sort out your shoes
It’s a good idea to remove all the shoes you want to donate and trash before packing.

2.    Buy the appropriate moving supplies
Buy boxes, tape, packing paper and a marker.

3.    Remove all dirt, mold and dust on your shoes before packing
Try using fabric freshener to also remove any odors and to freshen the shoes. Some shoes will hold moisture and can cause mold. Make sure that the shoes are dry before packing.

4.    Shoe boxes are a great option
We recommend that you buy some shoe boxes to pack into boxes. Make sure that you stuff the inside of all shoes with packing paper. Place each shoe inside the box tape it shut. Place each sealed shoe box in a larger box.  Fill in all empty spaces with packing paper.

5.    Packing shoes without shoe boxes
Keep your shoe box light and under 45 pounds. Pack your box with the heavier shoes first. After, pack shoes horizontal and pointing to the top of the box. This strategy will help to prevent crushing. Stuff any gaps with paper to create a better fit.
